Senior User Experience Designer at Akamai Technologies Dec 2016 – Feb 2017 contract Cambridge/MA Led the customer-centric design process for a new performance analytics product proof-of-concept. Designed a prototype and branding to initiate conversations with charter customers. This remote, global team hired me to divert from the company’s traditional design process in order to directly involve the customer to make sure the right product is built.

Senior User Experience Designer at Sabre Hospitality Solutions Aug 2015 – Mar 2016 contract Watertown/MA Led responsive redesign of a Windows application with a cross-functional team. Delivered wireframes in HTML/CSS/JS to test mobile and accessibility requirements and foster stakeholder understanding. Provided production-ready code for accessibility support.

Design Lead at Fidelity Investments Aug 2013 – Jan 2015 contract Boston/MA Increased mobile visitors by 75% for the Fidelity.com Accounts & Trade experience via a responsive redesign. My CSS-based solution unblocked the data-dense Positions grid allowing the project to ship on schedule. At launch, it became the most viewed page of Fidelity.com. Led responsive redesigns for security and prospect lead generation features.

Senior UI/UX Designer/Developer at Cogo Labs Jun 2012 – Mar 2013 Cambridge/MA “Responsified” Motovy.com resulting in a 50% increase in mobile value per arrival, incrementally A/B testing the responsive redesign. Designed a variety of responsive applications to maximize user interaction. Initiated and built a mobile device testing lab and documented a process. Created a lunchtime learning series, featuring 20-minute presentations by coworkers.

Designer/Developer at Easy Designs Oct 2011 – Jun 2012 Chattanooga/TN & Remote Learned responsive & adaptive web design from a web hero, Aaron Gustafson, owner of Easy Designs and the author of Adaptive Web Design. Used (then) cutting-edge HTML5/CSS3 to debug a showcase web app of the Wiki How Survival Kit (a popular Chrome app). Developed a responsive Nichols College Prospective Student micro-site.

Designer/Developer at Delta Dental of Virginia Jan 2011 – Oct 2011 Roanoke/VA & Remote Redesigned Delta Dental’s B2B & B2C application. Led Section 508 compliance & adherence to accessibility best practices. Worked within production code with a team of asp.net engineers.

Principal at Ink Pixels Paper Jul 1995 – present Cambridge/MA Freelanced under the name Ink Pixels Paper serving small, corporate, & non-profit businesses, including Partners In Health and Harvard’s National Preparedness Leadership Initiative.
